Hello! I woke this morning at 2:30am and God washed me in His love. As I went about preparing for my day He spoke to me of someone out there desperately needing encouragement in their faith. How well I know that feeling! I’ve felt it numerous times these past weeks. So, here it goes…

“If God Can Use Me”

Do you want to know where God found me?

I was a gay, alcoholic, video game designer who had just had the worst… quite literally the worst… night of his life. I woke up in a grocery store parking lot at 5:30am hungover having just completely destroyed my life the night before… and God wrapped His arms around me. He said, “This is finished. Now you are going to Listen and Obey and I am going to get you out of here.”

What was finished?… Me living for myself.

So, I began to “Listen and Obey” and what a journey it has been walking with God these past seven and a half years.

If God can use me to point to Himself, then certainly God can use you as well.

Oh, don’t get me wrong… these past seven years have looked something like this:

I laughed when God gave me the vision for the graph above to share with you… He knows me so well… but HE ISN’T FINISHED WITH ME YET!

So… I’ll say it again…

“BE ENCOURAGED! KEEP WALKING FORWARD! RETURN TO GOD A MILLION TIMES… YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND HIM WAITING WITH OPEN ARMS!

I AM LIVING PROOF OF THAT!”

This book series I am writing chronicles my journey walking with God these past seven and a half years… and I have, as best I could, written about the events as honestly as my pride and the grace of God would allow at the time. “Not About You“

I’m not sure how many times since God rescued me have I heard Him say the words, “It’s not about you.” Humbling words right?! We want everything to be “about us”… I know I did… and sometimes still do.

But the truth is that God drew you to Himself for one purpose and one purpose only and we find that purpose in His Word:

“…And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus, [and He did this] so that in the ages to come He might [clearly] show the immeasurable and unsurpassed riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us in Christ Jesus [by providing for our redemption].” – Ephesians 2:6

You were saved for this one purpose… so that in all the eternities of the eternities to come God could clearly show immeasurable and unsurpassed riches of His grace, His unmerited favor (a gift to you that you did not deserve) in His kindness toward us in Jesus Christ by providing for our salvation.

I think the first time God told me that it wasn’t about me He phrased it this way, “Your calling isn’t about you.”

And you know what… the more I walk with Him in obedience the more I see that it is all about Jesus Christ and really has nothing to do with me.

“Impossible Children”

The other day God said, “I want impossible children.” I had to laugh when He said that… I was like, “What?!” He has slowly explained what He meant to me…

God’s Impossible Children are those who had:

NO hope,

NO prospects,

NO holiness,

NO righteousness,

NO life,

And God drew them to Himself, through faith in Jesus Christ, so that they might have:

Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ who is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE,

All Hope (An unshakeable hope that flows out of Jesus Christ our right-standing with God, our holiness, and our future),

Eternal Life filled with His moment-by-moment presence dwelling with them,

Eternal Purpose given by God for God uniquely to each one for the purpose of bringing His Great Name glory, honor, and praise,

Complete Fulfillment found in fellowship with Jesus Christ, who only satisfies every longing, desire, need, and want of the human soul,

A Family Of Billions of brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, the Body of Christ, the Church, being the great family of God

“With God all things are possible!”
