Vision #4 – The Fallen Tower

Vision #4 – The Fallen Tower

B.P.K. – 11/02/2025

I opened my eyes and saw…

…a fallen tower, a tall building lying on its side on the earth.

I stood and took in the sight before me. The foundation of the building had been pulled up from the ground as the building had fallen on its side. I could see the exposed, broken, and twisted metal rebar that had connected it to its foundation jutting out from its base. I had not seen its fall. I had been brought here long after.

The building had stood in what once had been a large, open forest. I tried to figure out what kind of building it had been. It was square from its base to its top-most floor. I walked along the grass beside its fallen form. I passed by the floors and their shattered windows but couldn’t see anything inside the building. It looked to me as if each floor of the building had been empty when it fell. Perhaps it had been abandoned or perhaps it fell before it had been occupied. I couldn’t tell which.

As I walked beside the fallen tower a chill wind blew through the air. I shivered and wrapped my arms around me for warmth. This place was old. I looked at the surrounding countryside and the forest beyond it. I could see no hills or mountains above the tree line. The sun wasn’t high in the sky but seemed to be skirting the horizon.

I stepped over a huge boulder that sat in my path and continued walked down along the fallen tower. I wasn’t sure where I was going. I just needed to be moving. Something in the air was pushing me along.

“Where am I? Why am I seeing this?” I asked aloud.

There was no answer.

I continued walking and soon arrived at the top of the building and saw that it had fallen over a river cutting it in two. The water of the river now ran into the building’s topmost rooms and out again through the broken windows on the other side. It was a strange sight. It was as if the river was undisturbed by the intruder. I knew that soon the passing waters would erode the top of the building and carry it off downstream decapitating it. It seemed a morbid end to once such a glorious structure as this one.

I stood for a long time just considering the fallen tower. I felt that I was supposed to learn something from it, but what?

…I let go and found myself returned.
