“Presenting The Vision… Expressing The Call.”

Why Israel?…

On this page I would like to share the answer to the “Why Israel?” question. Why is Israel my destination? Why the Hebrew language? Where did this call come from? What is the motivation to GO?

On September 28th, 2018 I wrote in my blog, which became Restoring The Seventh Color, Part 2, The Book Of Benjamin Kareth:

“…God reminded me of a few weeks before when I had been standing in Northfield, MA looking out at a mountain in the distance and God had said, “Meet me at Mt. Carmel.” He said it with such force and excitement that I had those words seared into my mind. A week after that God had told me to go to Israel. I knew of a few friends that had a trip planned in October to go to Israel so I thought surely God meant for me to join them… but that hadn’t come about.

Then as I sat in that car driving to New Jersey, God spoke very loud… look up plane ticket costs to Israel. So I took out my phone and search Google for flights from Orlando, FL to Israel. The search need one way or round trip… so I asked God, “One way or round trip?”… Round trip… the answer. So I plugged in round trip. Then the search parameters needed dates, leaving and coming back. I closed my eyes and listened. “Go alone. October 5th through the 31st.”

A few weeks later I flew to Israel and landed in Tel Aviv with nothing to my name and no understanding of the why. I spent three weeks in Israel then, going up to Mt. Carmel in Haifa, to Jerusalem, to the desert of the Negev, to the Sea of Galilee, to a small city named Zofar, and then back to Tel Aviv. I met many people during my time there, had many encounters with God, and shared my faith and journey with people I met along the way. During this whole trip God was speaking to me about His plans for me in the future in this country.

On September 10th, 2019 I wrote:

“I do not know who I am now. Who is Benjamin Kareth? I know some facts about him. He will be fluent in Hebrew. He will be an Israeli citizen. He will, for a time, live in Jerusalem, Israel.”

Since then God has spoken to me many times about how He has called me to Israel and I see in each passing year that the drive and passion in me to go to Israel has grown. While I was living in San Fransisco I took a language class at the local Jewish Center for Hebrew and learned to read and write the basics of the Hebrew alefbet, as the Hebrew alphabet is called. In Words Of The Way: Part 3 of The Book Of Benjamin Kareth I wrote, in Hebrew cursive, about 200 sentences, you can see a sample of that written language on this page:

I have applied to the University of Haifa, in Haifa, Israel to attend the fall semester of Hebrew language studies and have been accepted. I still do not have a full picture of the why God has called me to go, but I want to obey Him in this and trust that He knows the whys. I do know that wherever He sends me, He comes with me in power and in love and lives are changed.

So… here are the next steps:

1. Pay for language tuition: $1100 approx. (still working to find out the exact cost)
2. Plane ticket: $2500 (flying from Dallas, TX, to South Korea to visit the prayer team that I drove around Dallas this summer, and then on to Israel)
3. Living expenses during my time there, approx $1500-$2000 a month.
