Having known Benjamin Kareth for quite some time and followed the trajectory of his real life, I can attest that this story is the cinematic cousin of his actual journey.
What often defies human logic and what I believe is central to the heart of this book is the concept of apparent chaos giving way to a divine, perfectly orchestrated pattern in hindsight. The core of this work is not found in the specifics of the plot, the details of the actions, or the storyline itself, but in the vibe and process that flows from someone committed to radical obedience, willing to roll with whatever comes along in that pursuit.
For those who feel they must control every variable of their lives, this story will be baffling. It is the antithesis of self-mastery. But for the reader willing to consider it, this narrative offers tangible proof of whether Jesus Christ can direct a daily life in ways that lead to an extraordinary, abundant existence.
Let me be clear: this story should not be emulated. No one could, even if they tried. What can and should be taken from this is the mindset; one of profound appreciation for the possibility that obedience at all costs can ultimately make more sense than anything humanity could ever dream up on its own.
Or, there’s that other distinct possibility: that our obedience will make no human sense on this side of heaven. In other words, what God accomplishes through our willingness may never be fully revealed to us, yet it will be deeply significant. And yet, both Benjamin and his character have actively cultivated and developed their relationship with Christ to the point that the conversations found within this story will, to the seasoned follower, make perfect and total sense.

The journey will put you in situations no one would expect. You will meet people no one saw coming including the good, the bad, the central players, and those just passing through.
