October 6th, 2022 – 6:22am – The Streets of Haifa, Israel:
This morning I walked one of my Russian friends to the train station to see him off to Dubai. Then boarded a bus to go up to the University Of Haifa to explore and currently am riding that bus. No idea what today will hold yet… moment by moment.
Since I’ve arrived back in Israel I have had this deep sense of peace and feeling of being home. The homesickness I’ve had for four years eating at me on the inside is finally gone. I can breathe and be at peace knowing I am right where God wants me to be.
A thought keeps hitting me. My journey may not have some great big ending… but that doesn’t matter… it is about the people I meet along the way and the love I can give them day by day. This is what it means to show God’s love to the world.
My whole life God has been putting in my a deep love for people and that is expressed as I travel the most when I speak across cultures and languages.
I am learning more and more everyday how to be the hands and feet of Jesus. To look for opportunities in every moment to serve those God puts in my path to show His love to them. Isn’t this what being a follower of Jesus means?
What does it look like?
It looks like a smile. It looks like giving a laptop away. It looks like buying a drink or a meal and sharing some time. It looks like carrying bags to the train station. This is what love looks like… day to day.

I arrived at the University Of Haifa and spoke with the guard at the gate. He told me that the university is on holiday and everyone would return to campus around October 17th. So he told me to explore a bit and look around. Not much help but I’m here and can see what a wonderful campus this is up on the very top of Mt. Carmel.

One of my goals is to more and more blend in with the people here. No one wears colors… all blacks and whites. My shirts are all colors… so I’m going yo start changing my wardrobe around.

I stopped at a market on the way back to the hostel and purchased some things to make vegetarian spaghetti. I cooked it and fed two Russians, a lady from Guatemala, and a girl from Chili. We ate together and had some good laughs. Mostly today has been uneventful in a good way. Allowing myself time to adjust to being here and exploring the city more.
